Law Enforcement Training Center
Committed to fostering defensive skills for real-world threats, for the guardians of public safety, and those that depend on them.
about us
For nearly two decades, area law enforcement officers trained at the old Top Gun Range in Geauga County. We purchased the range in the summer of 2021, intending to transform the property into a first-class training facility for law enforcement officers and others.
The planned improvements should not hinder law enforcement training. However, the range will be closed to the general public for the foreseeable future while we make necessary improvements. This service interruption will not affect the civilian training program hosted by our trusted partners, nor will it affect the "A Girl & A Gun" program.
Although this transformation will not happen overnight, we hope that you will see our commitment in action on each visit. What we have accomplished:
-
Construction of a new 84' x 24' range house at the 100-yard range, which includes an air-conditioned indoor classroom, a covered outdoor viewing/training area, and a covered rifle firing position.
What's next:
-
Adding restroom facilities.
-
Creating new shooting bays to the east of the 100-yard range to be used as a flexible training space for law enforcement handgun and patrol rifle training and qualification. One objective is to provide an area for firing from barricades and in and around vehicles.
-
Installing a new main gate and improving the driveway and parking area.
-
Upgrading the existing 500-yard rifle range, including adding covered and elevated firing positions and berms spaced at intermediate distances.
We would love your input. Please let us know what we can provide to help improve your training experience. Although we may not get to your project immediately, we will build it into our planning.
Please note that we can provide affordable, high-quality OPTA-certified firearms instructors to departments that do not have their own instructors or departments seeking specialized firearms training. We also offer a monthly makeup qualification for officers that missed the department qualification course.
Following are some photos of the progress of the new range house. Construction began in the fall of 2022 and completed over the summer of 2023.
